I was born and raised in the
insurance industry; I vividly
remember spending my summers going
from home to home helping my father
complete life insurance applications
for Mutual of Omaha. I even met
Marlin Perkins one time.
By the time I was in my teens I had
decided not to pursue insurance, and
instead went into information
technology and learned a great deal
about computers and software. It was
in 1992, when the recession hit that
I found my way back to the insurance
industry.
In 1994 I joined the team at L/B/W
Insurance & Financial Services, Inc.
I started at the front desk and have
moved my way up to an Account
Executive position at the agency. I
have also acquired two designations.
I received my Certified Insurance
Service Representative (CISR) in
1997 and my Certified Insurance
Counselor (CIC) in 2003. I plan to
continue to challenge myself both
professionally and personally each
and every year.
I joined the IBA San Fernando Valley
board in 2003. It has been exciting
and challenging. This coming year
promises to be no different. As the
President for 2008; I will continue
the three year plan we started last
year and continue to launch our
association into the 21st Century.
Watch for new events such as the LAX
Super Mixer in August.
When I am not working with the LBW
or the IBA I enjoy volunteering in
my community. I sit on four other
non-profit boards and enjoy all the
challenges they present. If I were
to use one phrase to describe my
life philosophy it would be Carpe
Diem: Seize the day!!
